Research interests

Parasitic contamination of foods are a concern in Canada for people living in metropolitan areas to remote villages in the arctic. Together with the NRC, we are working on a lab-on-a-chip (LOC) device for rapid detection and characterization of parasites in foods. To date, our main focus is on Giardia and Cryptosporidium with the intent to also include Cyclospora and Toxoplasma detection into the LOC device at a later stage.
